Jeremy Mercer was born and raised in Irving, Texas. After graduating high school, Jeremy left for Lubbock to attend Texas Tech University. There, he joined the Red Raiders and earned a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Finance, with an emphasis on Real Estate. While at Texas Tech, Jeremy played center for the university's football team. His passion for sports extended beyond the field; he also worked as a trainer for high school athletes in UIL. In addition to his studies and athletic pursuits, Jeremy worked for his father's steel company, Mercer Metals, a company which he later purchased from his father, and then sold the company in 2018.

After graduation, he ventured into real estate, beginning his career in commercial property management, buying houses, and chasing foreclosures. Jeremy's older brother Jeff, already established in the commercial real estate industry, convinced him to become a broker in October 2010. Jeremy embraced this new challenge, brokering over $300 million in transaction volume across 9 million square feet before focusing on launching his private equity company. Although he continues to represent clients, Jeremy's focus has shifted away from daily cold calling out on the streets of Brookhollow/Irving.

Currently, Jeremy serves as the CEO of Matador Realty Investments. Under his leadership, Matador has completed $105 million in acquisitions, totaling 1.2 million square feet and managing $165 million in assets.

Beyond his professional achievements, Jeremy harbors a passion for educating young market directors and investors on private equity transactions. He provides insights on topics ranging from basic terminology to investment strategies, sharing his expertise on his YouTube channel.

Family holds a central place in Jeremy's life. He met his wife and business partner, Tammine, at Texas Tech. Together, they are the proud parents of two children, Barrett and Layla. Jeremy has a passion for music and is a member of Trinity Junction, a band formed with friends from Tech. An accomplished musician, he sings and plays both the piano and guitar.
